riding up the chair lift looking at the colours of the forest and feeling the cool bite of the breeze i was fully in the moment of fall. i heard the people i was sharing the ride up with talking and the chairline clicking but for some reason it was like a dream and the only thing i felt in touch with was the breeze. i ended the ride up and sat on my bike and it headed toward the trail. my legs spinning faster than normal and my brain going very slow yet fully aware. this whole day the bike, the trail and i where one. a feeling i haven't felt in a very long time. at battle with my mind over meaningless situations in life or against a clock and competitive pressures can take the real reason to ride out of the ride. i know some of you have experienced this and to those who haven't yet, i wish it upon you. have a great day.

what ever reason you ride your bike is a good one. when your out this weekend riding think about the beautiful thing you are doing. it is such a simple thing yet so humbling or relaxing. humbled by how the mountain will always win or relaxing by the ocean breeze. in the tightest situations a good ride makes it all go away. two wheels going in a circle has a magical way of bringing a rider back to themselves in rough times and bringing strangers together over common interests. i hope everyone enjoys there time on there bikes this weekend!

a couple results from crankworx last week. thomas grabbed a 21st in the garbonzo dh and a 24th in the canada open dh. ryan gillett got a 24th in the garbonzo dh. jordan gillett placed 15th in the air dh as well. congratulations to these guys for there efforts against some of the best riders in the world.

Abby BMX rider wins provincials Paul Fontaine, The Times Published: Friday, July 03, 2009 At the ripe old age of eight, Zach Frier has tasted two big BMX racing victories. This past weekend, the young Abbotsford BMX Club member took first place at the B.C. championships, held in Surrey. Frier raced in the 9 Males category. "Zach started racing about three years ago. The first time he went to Abbotsford Track he was hooked," said Frier's mother Lisa Hartley. "Every year he strives to do better." Frier practises his riding three times a week at a number of courses and his goal is to someday compete at the Olympics. The Abbotsford BMX Club has a couple of big events ahead as they will be hosting the BC Provincial Cup Finals Sept. 20.

this thanksgiving weekend was a great racing weekend for all the bmx'ers out there. a great event as usual with good competition. zach frier reigned in mud while listening to reign in blood and grabbed a first place on sunday. both martels battled for a close second in there classes. most the rest of us just donated blood to the track. all in a good weekend of racing though.

thanks once again to the no hype bmx and mountain teams for their efforts this past weekend. the teams got beat down by the trail and track. wylie easton scored another 1st at bear and chris august grabbed 3rd at bear as well. the bmx team ate alot of dirt. tough competion mentally at the aba races. i know you ALL have the skill to beat the guys who psych you out. i have seen you beat them. lessons learned through dirt make the brain strong.remember when your brushing your teeth in the morning and looking in the mirror to tell your self that you are a winner!

The No Hype Team had a great weekend of racing in Victoria on May 26&27. It was the first weekend of racing on the 2007 BMX Worlds track. The organizers did a great job putting on the UCI event on Saturday and the Canadian series race on Sunday. The track was definitely challenging for most riders. We are lucky to have been able to test it out before the big day.

The No Hype riders did really well all weekend. Jesse Horompoly placed 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday. Josh Aiello got a pair of 2nds. Mike Irwin placed 3rd and 2nd. Tammy Lambert got a 3rd and a 2nd. Chris Sasso got a pair of fourths. Mike Murphy....crashed HARD.

no hype would like to give thanks to Derek at Troy Lee Canada for there support and efforts with our bmx team for 2007. we all are looking forward to another year of hard work for the people who help us out. congratulations to the riders who achieved there number 1's and to everyone else who gave it there all.

no hype has been gracefully granted intense Slopestyle and DH bikes for 2008 and beyond. with intense bmx and mountain bikes there is no doubt we are the fastest shop around. we are looking forward to the 2008 race season on a M-6. i feel faster just writing this.

with a very low turn out, it was all about fun.

The Canadian National BMX Championships were held last weekend (June 30 and July 1) in Bromont, QC. Three No Hype Riders (Josh, Mike, and Mike) made the long flight out to contend for a National title, as did Nick Goertzen (works at the shop). The weather was nice, the people were friendly, but the track needed a little TLC. It was a bit sandy by race day. Joshua Aiello still managed to come away with a #2 plate. The rest of the guys though (Mike, Mike, and Nick) all made their mains but ran into some crash problems

Next weekend, April 21 and 22, Ken Cools will be one of the coaches at the Supercamp in Kamloops. For anyone looking to hone their bmx skills or get in a great couple days of training, you should get in on one of Ken's clinics.
